This is a fantastic demonstration of 3M™ Window Film in action––how it can allow visible light through, while keeping out damaging rays and heat. Watch it above and see for yourself.
For every 100 square feet of 3M™ Window Film, it's like adding 1 ton of passive air condition.

So, like the spokesperson says in the video:
The average 2,000 square foot house carries about 300 square feet of glass, so wrapping the entire house would be like adding a 3-ton air conditioning unit that doesn't use any power.
There are cheaper imitation window film products out there that only work by reflecting light. This could be problematic, especially for dual pane windows.
Why?
It can cause undue heat and pressure buildup between the panes and could eventually result in seal failure or even glass breakage!
