Hello All,

The purpose of this post is to provide current information about Florida legislation regarding the use of specific language when marketing, advertising or selling safety and security window films. The law dictates that as of July 1, 2011 any company that sells 4 mil or 8 mil safety film or any other thick security film in Florida, Central Florida or coastal areas is no longer allowed to refer to these window films as Hurricane protection window film, Windstorm mitigation film, Storm protection film, or that the film offers protection from windstorms or wind driven debris. These terms are allowed in all other 49 states, but NOT in Florida as of the date of this post.

What is ironic is that the GSA (who is the landlord for Federal Government buildings) recognizes safety films with specific edge attachment systems as a viable bomb blast mitigation window film. It's that strong!

We are allowed to promote 3M safety film as smash and grab window film, anti intrusion safety film, glass retention security film and also protection from flying glass shards caused by natural or man made disasters.

The bottom line is that 3M 4 mil Ultra Safety and Security Film has 26 cross woven micro layers and the 6 mil film is comprised of 39 micro film layers. This makes these safety films extremely puncture and tear resistant.

If you are in the market for Window tint in Ocala, Belleview, The Villages or Window tinting in Gainesville, FL or any of the surrounding central florida areas we would be glad to come to your home or place of business and show you these amazing best safety films or sun control solar window film.
